In almost all cases, women come to Life Choices Medical Clinic for a free pregnancy test. The urine-based test we use registers a positive result 7 - 10 days after conception with a 98% accuracy rate.

Volunteers receive training to assist clients based on their needs. Clients are presented with options based on the result of their pregnancy test. If the test is negative, our counselors are trained to discuss abstinence and the risk of acquiring sexually transmitted diseases. When a client’s test is positive, she is given factual information about parenting, adoption, and the risks and complications of abortion. She is also offered a sonogram. In either case, all clients willing to listen are told of Christ’s love and purpose for their lives. Counselors are also prepared to provide assistance to women who are post-abortive. Community referrals are available for rape crisis counseling, legal assistance, job training, day care, housing and care for special needs infants and children. Clients can receive assistance in applying for Medicaid.

In late 2011, Life Choices—Agape completed its conversion to a medical clinic offering free sonograms to all of our pregnant clients. This service is provided to confirm a viable intrauterine pregnancy and to determine the gestational age of the developing baby. Studies repeatedly show that, when a woman sees her baby on ultrasound, she is far less likely to abort. Similarly, when the father sees his child, he is far more likely to bond with his child and encourage the pregnancy to continue.

Clients who have a positive test are eligible to use our Mommy And Me boutique for free maternity clothes. Additional material assistance is available through our Earn While You Learn Program.

Earn While You Learn is an empowerment program that gives our pregnant and postpartem clients an opportunity to amass points they can redeem in our Mommy And Me boutique. The purpose of the program is to reward their diligence in becoming a responsible parent. Points can be earned for viewing professionally produced videos about pregnancy, prenatal care, nutrition, toddler safety and the like; by attending school and church; and by reading educational books and brochures. Items available in the Mommy And Me boutique include infant clothing, diapers, baby wipes, baby furniture, and accessories.

Many women (and men) suffer from psychological trauma after being part of an abortion. PACE is a Bible study designed to help women and men find forgiveness and peace after an abortion. God has the answers to any problem we face and will meet us at our point of deepest suffering with compassion and love, but he requires our active participation in the process.

PACE leads a person through a book called "Forgiven and Set Free". It is a Bible study which helps one work through:

1. denial (re-experiencing the abortion)
2. issues of guilt and forgiveness from God
3. anger and forgiveness toward self and others who were involved in the abortion decision
4. grieving the loss of the aborted child
5. finally feeling forgiven and set free.

The counseling can take as little as 8 weeks or as long as is needed to work through the study to achieve the healing God has for the participant.
